Authenticity Guidelines
Uniforms:
DAK "M40" Tropical caps in well worn
condition or M43 caps in feldgrau wool.
M42 & 43 tunics are preferred but the M40 & 36 tunics are
acceptable. Reed Green M40 or 43 tunics are acceptable. Correct repro
"Reed Green", well worn DAK, or M43 trousers only please.
Low boots and gamaschen are highly encouraged, but jackboots are allowed if
the previous version is unavailable. Basic infantry insignia and
shoulder boards only, no cuff titles or special patches are to be worn.
M42 or M40 mantels (overcoats) are recommended
*** Those
wishing to use Italian camo items, please contact Jon
B. first ***
Also, please
purchase a pair of German sports shorts, as we will have the soccer ball
there & possibly we can go swimming in the quarry.
Be sure to have your ID Disk (Erkennungsmarke).
Equipment:
Basic infantry gear setup is the call. A mix of web & leather gear
is permitted. Everyone should have and wear the gas-can (with gas-cape
bag is encouraged), shovel, & bayonet. M42 helmets are preferred,
but earlier models are acceptable. The less decals on the helmets the
better (please no double decals). Correctly painted "DAK Camo
Scheme" helmets are permitted.
Appearance:
Hair should resemble a period style cut. Short on sides and sort of long on
top, is of course encouraged. Please, no beards, no mustaches, & no side
burns. Slight stubble is permitted.
Food:
Of course we will be portraying men who were on the move constantly &
will be staying in the field, so food should be that of German iron rations
and food scrounged from the local areas, but remember you will have to be
able to carry it in the field so use common sense. Of course all items must
be wrapped in period style and have period labels (nothing modern).
