Guidelines

For this event we are portraying the members of Nr. 5 Kompanie, Gren. Regt. 915 / 352nd Infantrie Division just before the D-Day landings.  For a veteran account of this Division during the Normandie campaign: Click Here

Uniforms

Helmets
M42 helmets are preferred, but M40 or M35 models are acceptable.  The less decals in the field the better, but single decal Heer helmets are permitted (no double decals).  Correctly painted "Normandie Camo Scheme" helmets are permitted.

Caps
M43 caps in feldgrau wool preferred, M38 or 42 acceptable.  Please no HBT or Camo caps.

Tunics
M42, 43, & 40 tunics are preferred but M36 tunics are acceptable. Correct repro Reed Green tunics are permitted.

Trousers
M43 trousers preferred, but M40s are acceptable.  Correct repro Reed Green trousers are permitted.

Overcoats
M42 or M40 mantels (overcoats) are highly recommended.

Boots
Low boots and gamaschen are highly encouraged, but jackboots are allowed if the previous version is unavailable.  All boots must be of correct pattern! Sorry no rubber soles.

Insignia
Basic infantry insignia and shoulder boards (white piping) only.  No cuff titles or special patches/boards are to be worn.

Camouflage
NO CAMO UNIFORM PARTS ALLOWED.  Only Wehrmacht zeltbahns of correct pattern are permitted.

Eyewear
No modern eyewear permitted.  Must be of correct period frames or contacts.

Weapons
Please keep them to the correct WWII German types.  German K98s, MP40s, G41/43s, & MG34/42s are acceptable.  Sorry, no Foreign, Russian, or late war (MP44s) permitted.

Equipment

Basic infantry gear setup is the call.  A mix of web & leather gear is permitted.  Everyone should strive to have and wear the gas-can (with gas-cape bag is encouraged), shovel, & bayonet.  We will be living in the field, so expect to carry what you bring.
Appearance

Hair should resemble a period style cut. Short on sides and sort of long on top.  For examples: click here.  No beards, no mustaches, & no side burns.  We were on maneuvers for only a day so you must be clean shaven, but your overall appearance can be slightly dirty.
Food

Of course we will be portraying men who were on the move & will be staying in the field, so food should be that of German iron rations or food scrounged from the local area. Please remember you would have to have been able to carry it in the field so use common sense (don't over do it). Of course all items must be wrapped in period style and have period labels (nothing modern).
