The Fight Along the Roer / Februar 1945 (Hagerstown, MD)

For the "Fight Along the Roer" event, we were recreating the Nr. 5 Kompanie, Gren. Regt. 958 / 363rd Volksgrenadier Division around the German town of Jülich. In February of 1945, the American forces were on the move into Germany & the Wehrmacht was on it's last leg.  The US 29th Inf Division's 1st Battalion was anchored North of Jülich.  After taking Broich, the Battalion began receiving heavy German MG fire from farmhouses and positions on the heights beyond the town.
