Leben in den Kasernen / Dezember 1944 (Fort Indiantown Gap, PA)

For this event we were portraying the members of Grenadier Ersatz Btl. 348.  This training unit was stationed in a training facility within Wehrkreis XI during the winter of 1944.  After being called to military service, you would have gone to the local reporting office. There you were told to report to the STAMMKOMPANIE of GRENADIER ERSATZ BATAILLON 348.  At this unit you had relinquished your Wehrpaß, and received a Soldbuch, ID disc, and basic uniform issue.  Immediately after this induction, you were assigned a barracks for a week or two of basic military instruction.  Thus began our event scenario.
